It is also suitable for exterior locations. CAT5E-PE jest technicznie identyczny ze standardowym CAT5E, z tą różnicą, że płaszcz jest wykonany z polietylenu („PE”) zamiast PVC. Jest to solidniejszy, odporny na ścieranie materiał, który zapewnia mocniejszą osłonę w przypadku trudniejszych instalacji lub wymagających środowisk.
